SCS Career Progression Framework

Introduction

SCS Career Progression is a framework that provides a more comprehensive and fair assessment of civil servants to progress in their career as compared to past practices. A platform to develop systematically competencies of officers at all levels in Professional & Management Group. The career progression portfolio give officers opportunity to document and promote the officer experiences, strength and personal attributes. The assessment centre gives the officer the opportunity to display and potray the officers competency in strategic thinking and presenting their ideas. In that way if one is good and competent, the process of SCS career progression gives him/her opportunity to progress in his/her career.


SCS Career Progression Framework involves the use of multiplicity of methods and tools to identify and select suitable and qualified officers that share the SCS Core Values and display the SCS Competencies which have been identified for Professional & Management Group. This framework consists of four (4) stages:

  • Candidate Search
  • Verification
  • Assessment & Career Progression Development Program; and
  • Recommendation for Promotion
