UNIT INFO
Information and Communication Technology Unit was established under Chief Minister's Department on 1 April 2001. This Unit report directly to the State Secretary and responsible for coordinating and providing the lead in the application of ICT, including formulating ICT policies, directions and standard, planning and implementing the ICT programs and activities within the Public Service.
FUNCTION
» Secretariat to the Sarawak Information Technology and Resources Council (SITRC), and assists in carrying out its functions and responsibilities;
» Advises and assists the State Secretary in the development, implementation, enforcement and monitoring of policies, strategies, directions and guidelines pertaining to the development and application of ICT and digital content in the State Public Service, and in the management of government intellectual properties (IP);
» Develops, implements and monitors the State ICT and IP management plans, budgets and programs;
» Plans and manages the development and maintenance of the State ICT infrastructure;
» Collects, manages and administers government ICT data;
» Identifies and registers government’s IP; and
» Monitors and coordinates Government’s ICT and IP programs for the community.
